The story of the largest biscuit manufacturer in the world comes to Reading this summer. Reading is celebrating 200 years of biscuit heritage in 2022 with a special exhibition, guided tours, museum collections and afternoon tea highlighting one of the most famous names in baking, Huntley & Palmers biscuits, which began life as a small baker’s shop in Reading in 1822.


* The MERL (Museum of English Rural Life) - special exhibition Biscuit Town: 200 years of Huntley and Palmers in Reading takes place from 10 May - 25 September 2022.

* Reading Museum Huntley & Palmers Gallery - an astonishing collection of decorative biscuits tins and ephemera bring the Huntley & Palmer story to life.

* Biscuit Heritage Walkabout guided tour from Terry’s Walkabouts

* Afternoon Tea with biscuits at the Roseate Reading Hotel or Afternoon Tea afloat on a Thames River Cruise.

Afternoon Tea – Roseate- from £28pp. Groups receive complimentary glass of bubbly per person.

Terry’s Walkabout - Adults £4 (25% discount), £2 child (50% discount) . All monies go to charity.
