Donnington Grove, a three star country-house hotel in Newbury, is situated in 500 acres of beautiful grounds that include an 18 hole championship golf course, beatuy and treatment rooms at Avalon Retreat, Clay Shooting and the New Beau's Bar and Restaurant. It is a fascinating destination with more than a whiff of English decadence. Built in "Strawberry hill Gothic" style, this 250 year old, charming building has a unique heritage. Bygone days have seen illustrious and eccentric inhabitants sich as British Historian James Petit Andrews, Georgian trend setter Beau Brummell and 1920's femme fatale Daisy Fellowes. Indeed, of all Berkshire hotels, you will struggle to find another with a more curious and intriguing history.

Our luxury hotel accomodation retains the character and features that epitomose Donnington Grove's grand setting and offers all the comfort and convenience you could want from a 3-star hotel. The hotel accomodation at Donnington Grove offers rooms in a number of different styles to meet your needs, from our standard Classic rooms to our superior rooms and luxurious, spacious suite. 

Every room at Donnington Grove has its own en-suite shower and/or bath, as well as a high-qulaity hospitality try to welcome you. Every room has a digital flatscreen TV, high speed WiFi, hairdryer and Donnington Grove's very own bottled spring water. To complete your experience, much of our luxury hotel accomodation in the main house and our lodges command fine views over our beautiful grounds and the River Lambourn.

Check in is from 14:30, please let us know if you require an earlier check in and will endeavour to make this possible. Check out is 10:30, later check outs can be arranged at £10 for each hour.

Preserving British Heritage is important so the house retains its authentic traditional feel wile providing comfortable accommodation and facilties for leisure and business travellers alike.

Besides forming the backdrop to previous golf champtionships, Donnington Grove is also a haven of calm and relaxation, helped by the River Lambourn which meaders through the extensive grounds and is home to trout, duck and swans. There is plenty of scope too for a variety of activites such as clay pigeon shooting and fishing. guests will delight in discovering various "secret" features such as the enchanting Japenese She-tennoji Temple and garden - the perfect place to take a deep breath and let the world drift by.

From the M4 West Leave the M4 at junction 13. At the roundabout take the 3rd exit signed for the A34 Newbury. Go South on the A34 for 2 junctions, DO NOT take the left lane to Newbury/Thatcham. Come off at the 2nd junction for Donnington Speen and A4. At top of outlet from the A34 turn left to Newbury. Into 30mph limit take 1st left opposite Hare & Hounds Hotel. Down to bottom of the road at the T junction turn right into Grove Road. Follow Grove Road for approx 1/4 of a mile and entrance to Donnington Grove Hotel is on left hand side. Drive through golf estate, over bridge and split in road take right for golf course and pro shop or left for hotel.

From M4 East
