The soft sunshine of British spring and summer time heralds the biggest festivals and events along the touring route. From sporting to feasting, there’s bound to be a celebration somewhere. Henley Royal Regatta, Bristol International Balloon Fiesta, The Bath Festival, Ascot, Upfest, Swindon Festival of Literature, Totally Thames, Badminton Horse Trials, Reading Festival, WOMAD...
But year-round there’s a fun mix of one-off and regular events to keep you entertained, from vintage fairs to food festivals and traditions. Make sure you check back for updates to our listings, and also ask around locally - there’s always something new going on.
Christmas is always a golden time to visit, with twinkly festive markets sprinkled throughout the route - none more well-known than Bath Christmas Market, with its magical Regency backdrop providing the perfect setting for a mulled wine and a mince pie. Elsewhere along the touring route you can celebrate the season with ice skating, festivals of light, slapstick pantomime shows, and glitzy New Year’s parties.
