About

Father Christmas' elves have been busy setting up their secret workshop to help manage the huge quantity of letters from all the children. They're making sure there are enough presents as the North Pole is very busy this time of year and needs a little extra help.

Father Christmas will be stopping off to ensure everything is running smoothly and is inviting you behind the scenes to marvel at the amazing magic taking place on selected dates from 16th November – 24th December 2024.

The elves will be busy in the workshop checking destinations, sorting letters, making toys and inspecting the famous sleigh to test everything is ready before Father Christmas sets off on Christmas Eve.

Anyone with a Cheddar Gorge & Caves Day Ticket can explore Father Christmas' South West Workshop set up in Gough’s Cave.

For those visiting with a Cheddar Gorge & Caves Day Ticket, families who want to join our Father Christmas Grotto sessions will need to pre-book a separate ticket for this experience (extra charges apply). As part of the fun, you’ll meet Father Christmas and the elves, have a merry old time singing along to festive songs, listen to a special Christmas story and receive a gift, all within the stunning Gough’s Cave.

This is a unique experience you don’t want to miss.

Make sure you arrive early to enjoy a full day of family fun! Your Day Ticket gives you entry to six exciting attractions. Explore Gough’s Cave, our spectacular stalactite show cave. Discover our newest multimedia experience, ‘Yeo’s Journey’ in Cox’s Cave which tells the captivating story of how our iconic caves were formed and evolved through the ‘power of water’. State-of-the-art technology brings the story to life using animation, sound, light and colour projected against the cave walls. Learn how our ancestors lived and survived in the Museum of Prehistory. Find out more about the local history, wildlife and plants in our Beyond the View cinema experience. Venture up the 274 steps of Jacob’s Ladder to The Lookout Tower and the Cliff-Top Walk where you will enjoy stunning views of the gorge and Mendip Hills - a landscape that has been millions of years in the making!

Christmas at Cheddar – a magical experience, not to be missed!
