An Age of Expansion

David Du Croz:  Great Britain: Foundations of Greatness

Despite losing the American colonies British commercial influence and territorial power expanded significantly, fueling economic growth at home. With that increasing prosperity came relative constitutional stability, social mobility, and an intellectual flowering reflected in the writings of some of the greatest political theorists, philosophers and economists of the age.
