Journey through time and walk in the footsteps of your ancestors in a fun and engaging adventure that takes you back to pre-historic Britain.
Choose your tribe and go walkabout on our exciting tribal trail. Learn about the pre-historic creatures that roamed Stone Age Britain as you follow the trail around the stunning show caves and beautiful gorge landscape.
Discover where Cheddar Man, Britain’s oldest, most-complete human skeleton was unearthed in Gough’s Cave.
Meet our hunter-gatherers in the Museum of Pre-history Garden. You’ll discover how early man lived and survived and watch ‘live’ demonstrations on fire-lighting, tool making and learn about cave painting. You’ll even get the chance to dress up in pre-historic costume.
Afterwards, explore the Museum, where you'll discover lots of amazing artefacts unearthed in the Cheddar area, which help tell the story of how people lived thousands of years ago.
Your Stone Age adventure is included in the price of a day ticket, so you can enjoy all six attractions: explore where Cheddar Man was discovered in Gough’s Cave, watch the story of early man unfold in the Dreamhunters multimedia experience in Cox’s Cave, and venture up the 274 steps of Jacob’s Ladder to The Lookout Tower and the Cliff-Top Walk where you will enjoy stunning views of the gorge and Mendip Hills - a landscape that has been millions of years in the making!
