Experience the Glamour and Intrigue of 18th-Century Bath
Bath Assembly Rooms is set to reopen in 2027 with an ambitious, fully immersive Georgian Ball experience, bringing the city’s 18th-century social scene to life. Following a major two-year restoration and conservation project, visitors will explore the beautifully reinstated Rooms, complete with original chandeliers, a new Georgian-inspired staircase, and a fully conserved historic floor.
Step into the 1790s and follow eleven richly developed fictional characters—drawn from research into real residents, workers, and visitors of the time—as they prepare for and attend a spectacular ball. From the master of ceremonies and hired staff to debutantes and their love interests, every character reveals the lives, ambitions, and challenges of Georgian Bath. Guests will witness the drama, ambition, and glamour of the season unfold across the building, experiencing the grit and grandeur of the era firsthand.
With its combination of historical authenticity, immersive storytelling, and restored Georgian splendour, the Georgian Ball promises an unforgettable visitor experience—perfect for the trade to contract and for visitors seeking a unique, story-driven cultural attraction.
