This Halloween, Mary Shelley’s House of Frankenstein has heightened the intensity of its notorious horror event, ‘After Dark - nights to die for.' This year, After Dark presents ‘Parasomnia’, a twisted journey through waking terror where the lines between reality and nightmares are erased. In this psychologically disturbing, multi-sensory experience, visitors will be immersed in disorientating darkness, isolation and confinement, and encounter new special effects, mazes, crawl spaces, and live actors throughout.
Cheddar Gorge & Caves is inviting families to step into a world of spooky fun this October half-term as it launches a haunting line-up of Halloween activities including the Ghoulish Goat Trail, Gruesome Games, Spooky Crafts and much more!
Located in Wiltshire, towards the centre of the Great West Way route, is the Stonehenge and Avebury World Heritage Site, home to the largest Stone Circle in the world!
Owned by English Heritage, Stonehenge is one of the most iconic landmarks visited along the Great West Way. Dating back to around 5,000 years, this pre-historic monument continues to elude many visitors around its mystery and breath-taking display each year.
40 minutes from Stonehenge is Avebury. Erected over 4,500 years ago and consisting of around 100 stones, this iconic Stone Circle is great for cold evening walks, or crisp mornings this season. And better yet, the entire landscape is owned by National Trust, meaning you can visit for free all year round!
Both landmarks are equally atmospheric during the Halloween period, with misty mornings making the stones a completely different experience this season!
Get up close and hands-on with real live animals at Bowood House & Gardens with their event this season: 'Creepy Critters' workshop, hosted by ZooLab UK. Meet the likes of Snakes, Giant Snails, Tarantulas and more in this interactive show - the perfect addition to the spooky Halloween Holidays!
