The Enchanted Cave - An egg hunt with a difference!
Explore a magical illuminated trail deep underground this Easter.
Discover a charming and magical illuminated trail within Gough’s Cave this Easter, where fairies glisten, flowers grow and eggs glow.
Running from 29th March – 14 April during the Easter school holidays, this fun and interactive trail will keep the whole family entertained.
On your travels, you will discover glowing eggs, sparkling flowers and illuminated guardian fairies who need your help! A mischievous eagle has taken their Easter eggs and hidden them deep within Gough’s Cave. The eagle was last seen in the Diamond Chamber where he is guarding a Giant Golden egg! Can you help find the missing eggs?
The fairies hold the secret to why the eggs are so special and why they need them back!
If you find the missing eggs and ‘crack’ the secret code, there’s a treat waiting for you.
After you’ve finished the trail, you can join us for fun Easter arts and craft activities taking place in the Events Room throughout the day.
Admission to this event is included in the price of a Day Ticket, so you can enjoy six exciting attractions. As well as the trail in Gough’s Cave, you can discover it’s spectacular and colourful rock formations as you walk through the show cave and learn about its amazing history through our audio guides (there are adult and children versions available). This is also where Cheddar Man, Britain’s oldest, most-complete human skeleton was discovered. You can see a replica inside the cave and learn about the amazing DNA discovery. Explore Cox’s Cave, our oldest show cave discovered in 1837. Find out more about the local history, wildlife and plants in our Beyond the View cinema experience. Learn how our ancestors lived and survived at the Museum of Pre-History and venture up the 274 steps of Jacob’s Ladder to The Lookout Tower and the Cliff-Top Walk where you will enjoy stunning views of the gorge and Mendip Hills - a landscape that has been millions of years in the making! Dogs are welcome across the whole attraction.
