Bath Mozartfest 2026 is the first to be programmed by its new artistic director, Adrian Brendel.

This year's festival opens on 13 November with two evening concerts from the Nash Ensemble (both including cellist Adrian himself), starting at 7pm and then followed by a one hour late-night 9:30pm concert featuring Mozart’s magical Divertimento.

The long-established festival will continue to bring the finest classical musicians to Bath, but under Adrian’s new tenure will also introduce some fresh ideas and faces.  A strong theme this year is youthful talent, with an Emerging Stars series, and two special collaborations with the choir of Bath Abbey, plus outstanding students from top UK conservatoires, and also the excellent Creative Learning team of Bath’s own Philharmonic Orchestra.

Pianist, Dame Imogen Cooper will host a farewell concert in the city as she steps back from the concert platform, which will include some stellar musical friends. The festival is renowned for its chamber music, and that will be wonderfully represented by the Leonkoro String Quartet, the Modigliani Quartet and the combination of Viviane Hagner (violin) , Adrian Brendel (cello) and pianist Till Fellner amongst others.

Dame Harriet Walter and Lucy Parham will illustrate the fascinating life story of Clara Schumann in words and music. And the festival will draw to a fabulous finale with the London Philharmonic Orchestra. With 17 events over nine days, Bath Mozartfest offers something for every music lover.
