Based in Wiltshire with a studio at Pound Arts, Anya Beaumont works with a range of materials and processes. Much of the material she uses is repurposed waste, selected for its physical properties.
Concerns of contemporary life, both political and environmental, are increasingly influencing her work. 'Future Fossils' and 'Hopeful Monsters' are current ongoing series. Bizarre, comical, even disturbing, the artist is confronting consumerism with humour and pathos whilst contemplating a future where material values are upended and what is currently waste is recognized as a scarce and valuable resource.
