Stag King

About

Queer artist Liberty Martin and the Ancient Celtic God of the hunt met at an online drag workshop in 2020 - the Stag King is half man, half stag and halfcut most of the time since his business collapsed AGAIN

7pm & 8.45pm | £10

This performance lecture/drag show explores the varied nature of Stag King's professional roles, including: Revered God, Stag Night Entertainer and, most recently, Drag King. This is a show about personhood, productivity and what happens when your role is made redundant.

As automation has the potential to rule out whole professions and a rapidly changing climate threatens our existence, what can we learn from a sexy cervitaur whose working life peaked in the palaeolithic era?

"With her warm stage persona Liberty lulls us into a fascinating world which she then mischievously turns on its head, delighting and provoking us into more nuanced thought."
Haley McGee, Solo Show Creation Lab

"It made me laugh. It made me cry. And it gave me hope. A gloriously silly and clever delve into knowing who we are."
