Push the boundaries of your comfort zone and break new ground in improvising characters outside of your default character range. In this six-week course you will explore and develop the range of characters you can become with the expert assistance of Maria Peters.
Everyone has their go-to characters in improv, whether they're realistic and natural, wild and strange, or just being a version of yourself on stage. In this six-week course you will explore and develop the range of characters you can become with the expert assistance of Maria Peters. Through joyful exercises and games combined with carefully-crafted feedback, Maria will help you to push the boundaries of your comfort zone and break new ground in improvising characters outside of your default character range.
Maria will teach a range of useful tools for finding characters in improv, from Physicality to Voicework, Inspiration from animals and objects, Emotions, Point of views, and more. Combining these techniques, you will create fun and believable characters with depth – even the wildest and weirdest characters have feelings too! You'll go on to practice maintaining a character through longer scenes and varying situations. Most importantly of all, you'll have loads of fun!
