If you’re a fan of Bridgerton, love the Regency period and enjoy champagne Afternoon Teas in beautiful surroundings, then this is definitely for you!
Berkeley Castle is hosting a fabulous champagne afternoon tea with *Mary Cole, the late Countess of Berkeley, in their Great Hall, on the afternoon of Thursday 28th September 2023 at 2pm.
*Mary Cole played an important part in the history of Berkeley Castle. Born to a butcher and his wife, she rose to the esteemed position of Countess of Berkeley in 1796 – a feat almost unheard of at its time! The road to riches was not a smooth one for Mary, and she was not only shunned by the ‘bon ton’ of society, but also by King George III and Queen Charlotte. Meet Mary in the Castle she loved and learn more about her scandalous story set in the ravishing Regency era.
Included in the experience: exclusive access to Berkeley Castle, a scrumptious afternoon tea with Champagne set in the magnificent Great Hall, a guided tour with one of our most experienced guides, an encounter with Mary Cole.
