Join us for candlelit Compline services, creative workshops, and harbour walks. Sing John Stainer's magnificent Crucifixion accompanied by the world-famous church organ. Share meals, play board games, and walk with Christ through Holy Week.

Children's activities, meditations, music, and joy mark our Good Friday and Easter celebrations. All are welcome!

Passion Sunday, 22 March

12:45pm - Join for a friendly bring-and-share lunch at church. Bring a favourite dish, enjoy good company, and share food, conversation, and community in a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere.

Walk the Way of the Cross, Sunday 22 March

5:30pm - St Mary Redcliffe enter Passiontide, moving through the days leading up to the crucifixion and preparing to walk with Christ. The choir will sing pieces inspired by the themes of Holy Week, including Florence Price’s Resignation and Helen Williams Great is Your Faithfulness.

Palm Sunday, 29 March

2:00pm - 6:30pm - Come and Sing! The Crucifixion

Come along to sing John Stainer’s wonderful oratorio in the beautiful surroundings of St Mary Redcliffe Church. This poignant work will be conducted by Joe Cryan (Director of Music) and played on the church’s world-famous Harrison & Harrison organ. It is free to sign up and music will be provided.

Rehearsal 2:00pm – 4:00pm, with the St Mary Redcliffe Choir and soloists joining for a full rehearsal from 4:45pm.

Maundy Thursday, 2 April

7:30pm 

On this night, the Church recalls the institution of the Eucharist on the anniversary of the Last Supper. This traditional liturgy includes foot washing and ends with the Stripping of the Altars and Vigil.

Good Friday, 3 April

12noon - 3:00pm - Litany of the Crucifixion

In the morning the children engage with crafts and hear the story of Easter, while preparing the Easter Garden and having a hot cross bun!

The liturgy of the day takes you to the foot of the cross, where, after following the St John Passion, you can venerate the cross and recall Jesus’ execution. After a 45 minute liturgy at 12pm the congregation are invited to stay for meditations and music until 3pm, when the Gospel of the burial is read.

Holy Saturday, 4 April

8:00pm - Easter Vigil

This ancient liturgy begins with a vigil where we hear the story of our salvation, followed by the first mass of Easter with great celebration!  A prosecco reception follows as we celebrate Jesus rising from the dead!

Easter Sunday, 5 April

The great festival of the Christian faith, celebrated with joy at St Mary Redcliffe. Fizz, Easter Eggs and all manner of joy follows!

9:30am - Said Mattins with Hymns

10:30am - Easter Sunday Eucharist

5:30pm - Festival Evensong
