2026 Programme

Treasure Island
Thu 2 July, 12:15 - 14:15
This swashbuckling adventure, released in 1950, begins with scenes shot on location in Bristol’s Floating Harbour, and also includes Geoffrey Keen among the cast, who was educated locally and made his stage debut in the city.

The Titfield Thunderbolt
Thu 2 July, 12:45 - 14:25
The Titfield Thunderbolt tells the story of villagers trying to keep their local railway running in the face of closure by British Railways; their misadventures are the epitome of the quintessential, mildly anarchic wit of Ealing Comedies.

The Third Man
Thu 2 July, 14:45 - 16:45
Joseph Cotton and Orson Welles lead this murky drama that winds through the streets and sewers of post-WWII Vienna (filmed almost entirely on location), but Trevor Howard steals every scene as the irritable Major Calloway, who becomes embroiled in the conspiracy surrounding the death of an American in suspicious circumstances.

Some People
Thu 2 July, 14:45 - 16:30
Shot entirely on location in Bristol and showcasing everywhere from South Bristol Baths to Lockleaze – and even featuring a test flight of the Bristol 188 – it’s a time capsule view into a bygone era of the city.

Notorious
Thu 2 July, 16:50 - 19:30
This gripping espionage thriller has hints of both film noir and romantic melodrama, and the central trio of standout performances from Ingrid Bergman, Bristol’s very own Cary Grant and Claude Rains make this one of Hitchcock’s finest films. Paired with wines that have a rich history linked with Bristol.

Hot Fuzz
Thu 2 July, 17:30 - 19:45
The hilarious action satire was filmed locally in writer/director Edgar Wright’s childhood hometown of Wells, this brilliantly lampoons every beat in the long list of 'buddy cop' movie tropes.

Truly, Madly, Deeply
Thu 2 July, 19:50 - 22:40
Anthony Minghella’s BAFTA-winning comedy-drama, starring Juliet Stevenson as a bereaved woman whose partner (Alan Rickman) returns as a ghost. Much of the film was shot in around Clifton Village, so the film will be paired with wines with a similarly local link.

Notting Hill
Thu 2 July, 20:15 - 22:40
Richard Curtis’ hilarious BAFTA-nominated hit romcom was directed by the late Roger Michell, who was educated at Clifton College.

Concorde on Film
Fri 3 July, 12:45 - 14:00
From testing a sonic boom over Bristol to its maiden flight, this insightful glimpse into the behind-the-scenes of this feat of aeronautical engineering is a must-see for history fans and aviation enthusiasts alike.

Paddington
Fri 3 July, 13:30 - 15:15
Delightful, earnest, and bursting with charm, Paddington is the perfect feel-good treat for audiences of all ages.

Brassed Off
Fri 3 July, 14:20 - 16:20
The late, great Pete Postlethwaite leads an ensemble cast in this story of Grimley Colliery Band and their dual struggle to reach the National Brass Band Finals against the backdrop of the increasing uncertainty about the future of the local mine.

Pitch Perfect
Fri 3 July, 15:45 - 18:00
This celebration of music, friendship, and finding your voice follows an unlikely group banding together (pun intended) to form the formidable Barden Bellas a cappella group.

The Talented Mr Ripley
Fri 3 July, 16:45 - 20:00
Anthony Minghella’s star-studded, Oscar-nominated adaptation of Patricia Highsmith’s 1955 novel sees Matt Damon transform into the sociopathic conman Tom Ripley in a beautiful Italian setting; paired with wines from across this fantastic country.

Clueless
Fri 3 July, 18:30 - 20:30
Step into Beverly Hills High, where match-making schemes, iconic outfits, and razor-sharp one-liners reign supreme, and follow Cher Horowitz as she navigates love, friendship, and self-discovery.

The Full Monty
Fri 3 July, 20:30 - 23:00
Oscar-winning black comedy The Full Monty will be paired with wines inspired by some of the film’s most memorable characters.

Mean Girls
Fri 3 July, 21:00 - 22:50
This screening of the teen comedy sensation that has only got funnier with age (sorry to remind you, but it came out 22 years ago…).

Finding Nemo
Sat 4 July, 12:00 - 14:00
The first Disney & Pixar film to win the Oscar for Best Animated Feature has become one of the most critically acclaimed animated films of all time, and it’s not hard to see why.

An American Tail
Sat 4 July, 12:30 - 14:10
Steven Spielberg’s first foray into animation is an odyssey that’s both magical and moving, and sure to tug at the heartstrings.

Stand By Me
Sat 4 July, 14:30 - 16:15
Celebrate 40 years of Rob Reiner’s Oscar-nominated coming-of-age drama Stand By Me with us this summer. Based on a novella by Stephen King, it’s the story of four young friends whose lives are changed by an expedition to find a missing boy.

JAWS
Sat 4 July, 14:30 - 16:50
Still as thrilling and spine-tingling as it was in 1975, this epic creature feature will remind you why you still get self-conscious wading any deeper than ankle-height in the sea – and how just two notes of music can instil more dread than you ever thought possible…

An American in Paris
Sat 4 July, 16:45 - 19:20
With music from Gershwin and famous dance sequences from Gene Kelly and Leslie Caron, it’s a spectacle not to be missed - especially not when paired with French and American wines, naturally!

Jersey Boys
Sat 4 July, 17:45 - 20:00
Big voices, bigger dreams, and songs that defined a generation: Jersey Boys brings the twists and turns of the remarkable true story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons to the big screen.

Little Miss Sunshine
Sat 4 July, 19:45 - 22:30
This film follows the misadventures of the dysfunctional Hoover family, so we’re pairing it with wines inspired by some of the personalities of the main characters. Buckle up tight for tears, tantrums and plenty of laughter.

Dirty Dancing
Sat 4 July, 20:45 - 22:45
Join Baby and Johnny in the Summer of ’63, where forbidden dance moves, steamy rehearsals, and a whole lot of heart make for one of the most iconic love stories ever set to film.

The Princess Diaries
Sun 5 July, 11:45 - 13:50
Follow Mia Thermopolis, a seemingly ordinary teen (albeit with a knack for awkward moments), as she learns she’s heir to the throne of a European kingdom and must navigate school, friendship, and royal life all at once.

Matilda
Sun 5 July, 12:15 - 14:15
Danny DeVito directs and co-stars in this spellbinding story of the little girl with a big heart – and seemingly magical powers – who uses her abilities to mischievously wreak revenge on bullies, villains and ne’er-do-wells.

Monty Python's Life of Brian
Sun 5 July, 14:10 - 16:00
The Pythons’ inimitable take on the Biblical epic, centred around a very ordinary man mistaken for the Messiah, caused outrage upon its release, but has weathered the critics to become a must-see staple of British filmmaking.

Ferris Bueller's Day Off
Sun 5 July, 14:45 - 18:45
Anchored by Matthew Broderick’s magnetic performance, we’re invited on a day skipping school that becomes an adventure sprawling across Chicago.

Crocodile Dundee
Sun 5 July, 16:20 - 19:00
The story of an Outback bushman travelling to the urban jungle of New York City is a cult classic and true Australian export, so we’ll be pairing it with our first ever all-Australian wine tasting flight.

Mamma Mia!
Sun 5 July, 17:45 - 20:00
Based on the West End sensation (written by local playwright Catherine Johnson!) following a bride-to-be’s attempt to find out which one of three men is her father, the unforgettable songs are woven seamlessly into the narrative to create a truly iconic feel-good film that will have you singing along and smiling uncontrollably.

Sideways
Sun 5 July, 19:20 - 22:30
Join Miles and Jack on a misanthropic misadventure through California’s wine country with a tasting exploring some of the key grapes from the film - no comment on the Merlot…

Back to the Future
Sun 5 July, 20:30 - 22:45
The time-travelling 1980s epic – or should that be 1950s? – turned 40 last year, which means that 1985 to present day is 11 years further than Marty travels back in time…
