Celebrate the incredible conservation success stories helping to protect our oceans and wildlife this summer at Bristol Aquarium.

Through interactive activities, guided tours and family-friendly experiences, you’ll learn how small actions can help protect our blue planet.

Summer activities

Take on the Conservation Trail

Collect stamps as you journey through the aquarium, discovering six fascinating species and the conservation projects helping them thrive.

Daily Save Our Seas Guided Tours – 11am

Join our expert team each day for a free guided conservation tour through a different area of the aquarium. Discover amazing animal facts, learn about the challenges these species face in the wild and hear inspiring stories of conservation success. Tours last approximately 15–20 minutes and include time for questions.

Treasure or Trash: Sandpit Search – Daily at 4pm

Become a marine explorer as you dig through our interactive beach combing sandpit.

Discover fascinating natural treasures including:

  • Shark teeth
  • Shark egg cases
  • Fossils
  • Seashells
  • Coral fragments
  • Ancient marine specimens

You’ll also uncover examples of plastic pollution and learn why keeping our beaches clean is so important for marine wildlife.

Visit the Conservation Corner

Looking for ways to make a difference after your visit? Conservation Corner is packed with ideas for the whole family, including:

  • Beach clean information
  • Conservation charities you can support
  • How Bristol Aquarium and Aspro Parks help protect wildlife
  • Children’s colouring activities

All Conservation Carnival activities are included with standard aquarium admission.

Daily talks

11:30am - Coral Seas
Meet the inhabitants of the Coral Reef and see how Bristol Aquarium train the rays and sharks to come to the surface for their breakfast!

12:30pm, Mon/ Wed/ Fri - UK Native Fish and Sharks

Discover more about the shark species that can be found around our own shores!

12:30pm, Tue/ Thurs/ Sat/ Sun - Seahorses

Discover more about the graceful herd of Big Bellied Seahorses from Australasia.

1:30pm - Bay of Rays

Meet our inquisitive rays and learn about how they’re actually flat sharks!

2:30pm - Amazing Amazon

Come and check out this big fish feeding frenzy – just watch you don’t get splashed!

3:00pm - Octopus

Meet the Aquarium's common octopus, and learn some fascinating facts about these amazing molluscs, as she gets her dinner.
