About

Are you ready for a tour that will get you beneath Bristol's surface? Introduce you to parts of the city some locals don't even know about? This Historic Tour of Bristol will do the trick.

This tour will cover many aspects of Bristol's history, including learning about Bristol's connection to the African slave trade, as highlighted by the toppling of Edward Colston's statue in the city during protests in June 2020.

Your group will meet in Castle Park, the ancient centre of Bristol which was destroyed by German bombing in World War II. After learning about Bristol during war-time, you'll embark on a dynamic tour of the old city, harbour and adjacent areas.

Highlights often not seen by visitors include the pirate Blackbeard's house, the very room where the book Treasure Island was written, and even an original pirate skeleton hidden in a historic pub!
