Looking for a creative evening in Bristol? Want to try your hand at printmaking but not sure where to start? Join local artist Harriet Rose for a two and a half hour lino stamp carving workshop.
In this experience Harriet will introduce you to the wonderful world of linocut printmaking. You will learn how to design, carve, and print your very own stamps utilizing the same skills used to create large linocut prints. You will have the opportunity to create several small cork backed stamps and one large wood backed stamp that can be used at home to create cards, wrapping paper, decorate gift bags, etc.
You are free to create whatever stamps you like and there will be plenty of opportunity to experiment with your creations. Your host will be on hand to provide encouragement and guidance, feel free to bring your own images for inspiration and reference.
All materials will be provided, including blank greetings cards to be decorated using your stamps. You will be using fast drying ink to print will so any creations you make will be dry and ready to take with you at the end of the session!
This workshop is designed to be a fun and playful evening to learn skills in a relaxed setting with great company. Both group and individual bookings are welcome.
The session will be held at the Tobacco Factory Cafe Bar in the Snug (a quiet and cozy private room). The workshop is ideal for beginners but those with experience are more than welcome to join. You will be part of a small and friendly group.
So come along, grab a drink, and get carving!
