Step aboard The Matthew of Bristol for a memorable cruise through one of Bristol's most spectacular natural landmarks. This three to four-hour cruise travels from the historic Floating Harbour, through the swing bridge and Junction Lock and out on to the River Avon.
The trip offers passengers the rare opportunity to experience the dramatic beauty of the Avon Gorge from the water on a replica 15th century ship, passing beneath the iconic Clifton Suspension Bridge before continuing towards Pill and returning to the city.
At the end of the trip, you'll be returned to The Matthew's Princes Wharf mooring to disembark the ship. The Avon Gorge Cruise on The Matthew is a unique experience for visitors and locals alike.
The River Avon's tidal nature means sailings are limited, making each voyage a special chance to witness Bristol's landscape from a different perspective. During the cruise, passengers are free to wander around the main deck – there are some excellent vantage points from which to take photos of your trip!
The Matthew's knowledgeable volunteer crew are on hand to share insights into The Matthew, John Cabot and Bristol's rich seafaring heritage. Passengers are welcome to bring their own snacks, and a licensed cash-only bar serves a selection of hot drinks, soft drinks, cider, beer and wine throughout the voyage.
Please check The Matthew website for up-to-date ticket availability.
