The Alex Moulton Charitable Trust invites you to an evening of all things Scottish to celebrate the life of poet Robert Burns, including bagpipes, poems, whisky, traditional dancers, a buffet-style grazing table and of course, haggis, all under the historic roof of The Hall.
All tickets sold will contribute to the charity’s efforts to restore and maintain the Jacobean Hall. Over the years the stonework on the terrace and the decorative finials adorning the top of the house have become unstable; the building is a significant part of Wiltshire’s industrial heritage; therefore this work is essential to preserving it for future generations.
Director Christine Olivieri says that “with another winter setting in we need to act fast to save these features from further damage, but the additional expenses of architectural surveys and repairs on a Grade 1 listed building is going to leave a large hole in the charity’s annual income. This event is the first of many that will help us to restore this fantastic building back to its original splendour.”
