Learn to lino print! A complete introduction to linocut printmaking using the reduction technique, suitable for all abilities.
In this relief printing workshop you'll explore a range of linocutting tools, how to create marks, use areas of positive and negative space in your design, how to ink your lino block and learn to print by hand.
At the end of this workshop you'll have and understanding of;
- the key tools and materials
- how to register your block
- how to register your paper
- printing without a press and
- created an A5 print colour print(s)
You can have the choice of using either soft-cut/easy carve lino or traditional 'grey lino' also known as battleship lino, this is made from linseed oil and cork, backed by hessian fabric and is biodegradable.
Workshop Info
This workshop is suitable for adults and those aged 16 years +, beginners, improvers and those looking to learn something new. Please bring along your own designs and sketches.
You will need to bring your own lunch.
To protect your clothes please bring an apron or wear old clothing.
Materials
All tools, equipment and materials are provided, although if you have your own set of linocut tools and feel more confident using these, please do bring them along.
