This spring and early summer, experience Bath in a more Gothic light with The Frankenstein Experience — an immersive one-hour theatrical walking tour created by Mary Shelley’s House of Frankenstein and Show of Strength Theatre Company.

This lively and highly entertaining walking tour leads you through Bath’s historic streets, uncovering hidden stories of secrets, scandals and lost reputations that shaped the city and inspired Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. Walk in Mary’s footsteps and explore the places and characters connected to her life and legacy. 

The experience continues inside Mary Shelley’s House of Frankenstein, where atmospheric sets, artefacts and performances bring her story and her famous creation vividly to life.

A unique combination of outdoor walking tour and immersive museum visit, The Frankenstein Experience reveals a different side of Gothic Bath.

• A one-hour walking tour with the award-winning Show of Strength Theatre Company 

Walk in Mary Shelley's footsteps as she created her Gothic masterpiece. See where she lived and explore Bath's Regency side streets in a fascinating tale of secrets and lies, suicides and ruined reputations.

•Entry to Mary Shelley’s House of Frankenstein 

Discover the incredible story of Mary Shelley and all things Frankenstein on a self-guided tour of the multi award-winning museum. Crammed with unusual items, ominous soundtracks and bespoke smells and effects.

• April: 4th, 9th, 12th, 16th & 18th 

• May: 3rd, 24th, 28th & 30th

• All tours leave at 3pm.

 • The Frankenstein Experience is bookable in advance at https://houseoffrankenstein.com/the-frankenstein-experience and is priced from £24 per person.  

• The maximum number of people per tour is 25, and group bookings are available. 

• The tours start at 3pm outside Sally Lunn’s, 4 North Parade Passage, Bath BA1 1NX and finishes at Mary Shelley’s House of Frankenstein, 37 Gay Street, Bath BA1 2NT. 

• The tour duration (including the museum entry) is up to 2 hours.
