And there are plenty of places to try homegrown tipples, too. Beer, wine and gin are all made along the Great West Way. You can take a tour of one of our breweries or vineyards or just pull up a stool at the village pub and see what’s on tap.

Or you can slip into a small, unassuming neighbourhood restaurant, straight from a day’s sightseeing, and be served award-winning British food. Even if you've got a muddy canine companion with you, there are plenty of dog-friendly places to eat and drink as well.
Whatever you want to sample, make sure you're not in a rush - linger with friends over a long meal and take your time getting to know the scrumptuous delicacies on offer. The Great West Way is all about slow travel, and that means slow food and drink too.
